A MODEL CHURCH IN CHRIST CENTERED MINISTRY

Presiding over the New Year Thanksgiving Service, the Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala, Rt. Rev Jackson Frederick Baalwa, delivered a sermon themed “The Power of Thanksgiving.”

In his Christmas sermon themed “God With Us (Emmanuel)”, the Archbishop anchored his message on Isaiah 9:1–7 and Matthew 1:18–25, urging Christians to embrace Jesus Christ as the Prince of Peace, especially as Uganda approaches a sensitive election period.

An angel told Joseph that Jesus will “save his people from their sins,” explicitly linking the name Emmanuel to a mission of rescue and redemption. The presence of “God with us” through Jesus Christ provides liberty

Emmanuel brings out the reality of incarnation representing the divine and human natures of our Lord Jesus Christ. It further reveals to us the assurance of God’s presence in our lives as declared in the great commission in Matthew 28:16-20; “I will be with you till the end of the age”.

Psalm 145 is a celebration of God’s greatness, Goodness and everlasting kingdom.
The Psalmist calls upon all creation to celebrate God’s powerful and merciful nature, his Justice, and his care for the weak and needy. David was one leader who was a worshipper; he saw God in every aspect of his life. Much as he was the King, he always looked at the God King over him. As we end the year, my prayer is that we look back and see the greatness of God in our families, work places, personal life, achievements, losses, pains and all that we have gone through. Can we testify of the goodness of God?
