Entebbe – 9 July 2025- The Provost, Rev. Canon Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye, has called on staff of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) to embrace a life of purpose by investing in the Kingdom of God, reminding them that their work and lives are part of a divine calling.
Preaching during a special mid-year thanksgiving service at the UCAA headquarters in Entebbe, the Provost delivered a sermon from Matthew 6:19–24, under the theme: “Investing Our Lives in Kingdom Business.”
“In everything you do, whether at work, at home, or in the community-invest with the understanding that your life and resources belong to God,” she said.

She emphasized that cultivating a kingdom mindset allows individuals to live with intentionality, recognizing themselves as stewards of God’s blessings.
While many focus on tangible assets such as land, vehicles, or buildings, Dr. Nyegenye reminded staff of the often-overlooked intangible blessings-like breath, time, and opportunity, which are equally sacred and worthy of gratitude.
Citing Matthew 6:19, she reminded them of the Jesus’ teaching on the dangers of earthly attachment, urging believers to store treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy.
“Where is your heart now? Have you truly invested in the Lord?” she asked, prompting deep reflection.

The Provost also challenged the team to cultivate unity, positivity, and mutual support in the workplace. “God positions each of us in different places for a reason and a season,” she said. “Let us be each other’s keeper, promote one another, and avoid negativity.”
To those in leadership, she offered a reminded them that leadership is a sacred trust, and influence should be exercised with gratitude, integrity, and a spirit of service.
“Thanksgiving is not an event, it is a daily lifestyle. Recognize God’s goodness in every hour and in every responsibility you carry,” she added.
The Authority, through the offertory, contributed over UGX 5 Million towards the Cathedral Building Project and pledged to make additional contributions in the coming months. The service was led by Rev. Hillary Jaffu, the Assistant Provost and the choir from the Cathedral.
Among the attendees were members of the UCAA Board including Ms. Ethel Kamba, Mr. John Bulindi, and Mr. Lubowa Moses Paul; the Director General, Mr. Fred Bamwesigye; alongside senior management, staff, airline partners, and other stakeholders.
This outreach is part of the Cathedral’s broader mission to engage professionals across sectors, encouraging them to live out their faith with purpose, stewardship, and impact.
