Dear Brethren,
I bring you Christian greetings from All Saints’ Cathedral, Kampala (ASCK).We are again facing a public health crisis brought by Covid-19 pandemic which has caused uneasiness in our daily operations.

On Sunday, June 06, 2021 the President once again issued guidelines to control the wide spread of corona virus in the country. Among those, he closed public gathering churches inclusive for 42 days. Despite all these encumbrances, we are victors in Christ Jesus.

I therefore call upon everyone in times like these to be a witness for Christ through spreading the Good News of Christ to each other in your homes and your work places.

Please, do not allow the circumstances brought about by COVID-19 to define you, but rather continue to focus on Jesus Christ to strengthen you through the challenges you face. Indeed, the omnipresent God is not limited to space (building) but is everywhere and in all circumstances, we are called to keep hoping, worshiping and praying to the omnipotent.

Giving: We heartily thank you for your generous and continued support you have rendered to the ministry of God through tithe, offertory, ACP giving, thanksgiving and many more. May God richly bless you.

The sick and bereaved: In the same spirit, we stand in solidarity with all of you whose families have tested positive of the COVID-19. We pray for God’s love, mercy and healing upon all who have been infected. Our hope and faith is not moved as we face this devastating virus. We also pray for comfort for all who have lost their dear ones, may the Lord strengthen you all in this time of grief and sorrow. I pray that we all remain faithful in prayer that God through Christ our Lord delivers us from this pandemic. Like any other person, we are distressed by the situation that we can’t physically meet but, be assured of our prayers and love. Let us keep the SOP’s as given to us by the ministry of health.

Prayer and fasting: we thank God that following the directive from the Archbishop we were able to organize four days of prayer and fasting which was well attended both locally and internationally. We have very positive reports concerning the impact this has made on lives out there. After this meeting the Pastoral team thought about reorganizing our prayer times as follows:
• Monday- Friday – Morning glory 6am-7am, Lunch hour from 12noon – 2pm and evening glory from 6pm – 7:30pm.
• On Wednesday the 6pm service will take care of our midweek service.
• On Friday we will have an extended prayer time from 10:00pm – 12midnight.
• On Sunday we will continue to have one service at 10:00am, on Facebook,
YouTube, Family TV, NTV, Zoom and Namirembe FM.

Love gift: following the launch of the love gift by the Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda, we have put up a committee of 10 people to follow up the pledges and reach out to you for contributions. The minimum contribution is 60,000/= but even those who have less and would love to contribute, you are free to do so. We are going to work with all fellowship/cell leaders to make sure that everyone gets the opportunity to contribute. We also encourage people to contribute on behalf of your families if you can. We also agreed that our collection is made centrally at the Cathedral through our collection channels before it is transferred to Equity bank. This will help us to know whether we have hit the target or not. Our set target for the cathedral is 5000 people at 60000 each. For mobile money we can use 0782658623/0703491808 and reason is love gift or use our envelops and write on top love gift. You can also deposit in the bank
Account and indicate love gift.

May you be encouraged by with the words of Apostle Paul who for a time like this would say: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
