Watch out for the Cheering Crowds who may be positioned behind and in front of your Ministry” [Rev. Captain David Serunjoji]

Last Sunday 14th April 2019, The Assistant Provost, Rev. Captain David Serunjoji Cautioned ASCK Congregants in the three Services to watch out for the cheering crowds who may be positioned behind and in front of their ministry. He made the remarks while delivering the sermon on Palm Sunday. Citing Zechariah. 9:9-13 and Mark 11:1-11 respectively, Rev. Serunjoji David point- ed out that Prophet Zechariah had prophesied the global Reign of Jesus and His Kingship (Zech. 9:10) and was not limited to space, time and Nation. He said.

He added that;

  1. Holy Week is a “danger week” which incorporates and unveils Jesus’ Salvation History on our behalf through ridicule, denial and scorn on His Personality YET he committed no Sin [I Pet. 2:22];
  2. Christians MUST avoid mob injustice, get away to being deceived by crowds and numbers; and follow Jesus who is the Saviour of Mankind
  3. Even when Christians may be rejected by the Crowds, Christians should lean on Him: He died for us once and it is finished indeed!
  4. Jesus desisted from following the worldly Rulers; instead he rode on a colt [humility] and died for our Sins [ I Pet.3:18ff];

Captain Serunjoji urged the Congregations not to be a face in the Crowd but instead to be counted among those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Watch out then for the cheering Crowd and belong to that Team that believes in Jesus Christ.

Guiding Questions and Prayer moments

1. Our King is the Authour of peace, Almighty and an awesome God! Spend some quality moments and point out ways how we as His subjects need to be caution of following Crowds. Are there moments when we shout Hosanna and Halleluah when we do not mean this? Share Testimonies.

2. Spend the rest of your time in Prayer: first by appreciating and thanking God for His Son – the rightful, victorious, meek and humble king. You can also commit yourselves to serve Him in the different Ministries. Lastly, ask God to give you the confidence and way(s) to avoid being moved by Crowds.
