Shalom, Last Sunday’s Topic was: Walking in the Spirit. [Gal 5:13-24 & John 14:8-17]. The reason as to why we should allow the Holy Spirit guide our lives is that we may not gratify the desires of the sinful nature since it’s contrary to what the spirit desires. Walking by the spirit involves how you conduct your life- style, Character and Behavior. It’s only when we live by the spirit of God that his righteous requirements are fully met by us because on our own we cannot please God. It’s when we allow the Spirit of God to control, empower, and guide us.

The Christian walk is the walk guided by the power of the Holy Spirit.

If we allow the spirit of the Lord to indwell in us, then our minds shall be set on what the spirit requires because our minds have a lot to do on how we govern ourselves. The mind controlled by the Spirit is of life and peace. Unless you have the power of the Holy Spirit to control your life, you can- not meet his standards. The spirit that raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies and help you put to death the deeds of the flesh, and then you will be true sons of God and co-heirs with Christ.

Being led by the spirit involves the desire to hear, God’s word and discern- ment. You can’t worship God unless you offer your life as a living sacrifice. The Holy Spirit enables us to know God’s will for our lives. God wants us to obey and submit to him. Walking in the Spirit means; letting the Holy Spirit to take charge which will be exhibited in your character, behavior and atti- tude and in every aspect of your Life. A sinful nature displeases God and the acts of a sinful nature are; sexual immorality, Impurity, debauchery, idolatry, anger, hatred, witch craft, among others. If you are going to live by the Holy Spirit; remember you have been called to serve one another with the different gifts God has given you. By the power of the Spirit you overflow with hope.

Walking in step with the spirit will enable you know what you are required of; such that you might fulfill God’s agenda. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in everything that we do; then the fruit of the Spirit will be evident in our lives. May God give us the grace to live and be guided by the Spirit, so that you fulfill the righteous requirements of the LORD?
