May the LORD’s name be praised! The previous Sunday ASC hosted Mr. Peter Mukhama the General Secretary of Bible society of Uganda who preached to the three [3] congregations on the Topic:“Working alongside our heavenly Father.” He first and foremost appreciated ASC family and the Church of Uganda as whole for their tremendous contribution towards the Bible society of Uganda in supporting their set vision of having a Bible in every Heart, Hand. Home, Hotel and Hospital. He as well encouraged parishioners to commit themselves to become members of Bible society such that their mandate to translate the Bible into different languages, publish [print] it with emphasis on quality, enhance it’s distribution that is highly subsidised and having scripture engagement [Literature] is efficiently and effectively carried out.

Reflecting on the topic and drawing references from John 5:16-27 and Isaiah 55:1-13, the preacher reminded the congregants that ‘God and his son Jesus Christ are always at work’ and therefore we too ought to be at work. He emphasised three key aspects that we ought to learn from the kind of work God does since we are co-workers with Him [1 Corinthians 3:9];
Our God is a creator. All that He created, he declared it good and for us as human beings, he created us uniquely in his own image; fearfully and wonderfully made. For this reason, God desires us as Christians today to standout in being innovative and productive where he has placed and called us to serve/work. In so doing, He also expects us to bring about a good and positive change at our workplace so as to glorify His Name.
God sustains us. He knows every detail that concerns us, Christ challenges you today to carry your cross daily and follow him [Luke 9:23; for in Him you will surely find rest. He as well desires us to persevere to the end.in other words to “Keep on – Keeping on” [Matthew 24:13] and will surely give you joy amidst the difficult circumstances.
[Psalms 30:5]
God gives us a destiny [a purpose]. As Christians we ought to focus on things that are heaven bound. Mr. Peter Mukhama urged the congregants to focus on the things that will enhance them as believers and to let go of the earthly things [Mark 8:36]. For heaven to be your destiny, you MUST have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.

Guiding Questions and Prayer Items
1. As a Cell, reflect on the above message. Share your testimony of being a co-worker with the Lord in regard to where he has placed and called you to serve/ work?
2. As Christians today where have we failed? Using Biblical references what does the Lord require of us?
3. Spend time in prayer giving thanks and seek God’s direction in restoring us to be good and faithful co-workers.
