Home Cell Fellowship

Praise God Brethren! Last Sunday our topic was Rejoice Together Isaiah 51:1-3 and Luke 1:39-50. We rejoice together because the Lord has done so much in our midst and we come together to rejoice as a family of All Saints’ Cathedral. You are encouraged to start a fellowship or cell group at work or belong to an existing one so as to seek God. Even as we rejoice together God is taking us from being a people who are Church goers to people who are rooted and established and walking with the Lord. Even when the storms of life come we cannot be shaken but strengthened for it is hard to rejoice alone and when you find people rejoicing this implies that there’s something that has happened therefore Let’s be encouraged to know one another whenever we come to Church such that we walk together.
The children of Israel were returning from exile where they had been for 70 years. The Lord desired them to listen to Him, though they were pursuing righteousness BUT the truth is that they were absent from the Lord. You can consistently go to Church, giving to Church, have a Bible, be baptised and seek the Lord, have you ever encountered Jesus Christ/ salvation. Isaiah urges them to look to the Rock which is God himself; on which the church was built and gates of hell shall not prevail, it’s the hiding place, the refuge for strength which brings the righteousness of God. Look back at your origin, He is our origin. As others are rejoicing, there’s a reason as to why you’re not celebrating. Will you have encountered the Lord and benefit from all acts of righteousness. The following are the reasons as to why the Lord conditions us to rejoice.
a) Seek after and pursue righteousness for this is the only way to rejoice together in the Lord in Jesus Christ. Rejoice here on earth and in eternity, your relationship with Jesus Christ matters.
b) You will remember; always look to the rock because he is our reference and therefore desire to live a godly legacy. The only way to live a godly legacy is by looking to the promises of God and learning to wait on Him. God called Abraham and blessed them together with Sarah. Zechariah and Elizabeth waited He blessed their womb The Lord fulfills His promises therefore remember His promises don’t trust in immortals.
c) The God that brings us Joy has the power to destroy and bring back to life. The same God who took them to exile is the same God who brought them back therefore there’s no need to doubt him. For it is God who chased Adam and Eve out of the Garden and it is the same God who sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to redeem mankind. For there’s no hiding place except in Jesus Christ therefore choose to return today.
