Home Cell Guide (Sunday 22nd March 2020)

Shalom Brethren! Our Sunday’s topic was: The Repentant Church from 2 Chronicles 7:11-14 and Mark 1:1-8. Repentance is an expectation and a condition required by God from the Church. To repent is when you sincerely feel sorry or remorseful of your wrong doing/Sin. It is a radical turn away from sin and a complete change of mind. A Hebrew word Teshuvah means return to the Lord and in Greek Metanoir means change of mind or radical change of one’s lifestyle. God emphasizes the need for us to repent as a Church both individually and corporately; e.g. Priests, husbands, wives, youth, children, men and women and corporately as a Church, family, City, Nation, workers, Community or an organization among others; Justification for repentance may include bridging developed gaps between man and God also between one another [husband and wife etc], thus the need to bridge it or reconciliation/restoration.
Eight facts about repentance:

1. Returning to God for forgiveness, restoration and divine help no matter the kind of sin.
2. It’s a remedy from sin for the sake of our salvation through Jesus Christ.
3. If we don’t repent, we will perish.
4. It is God’s desire for all to repent as a means to salvation.
5. It is a significant pillar and value for Church growth and revival /individual Christians.
6. Repentance brings reconciliation of a Church, Marriage, Family, Government/ Nation, Businesses and all other spheres resulting to a peaceful, harmonious, unifying model for Church growth.
7. Repentance is a spiritual preparation for eternal life. Living a life of repentance will earn us citizenship in heaven in other words one inherits eternal life.

In a nutshell, a thriving, developing, stable and growing Church is one which repents. Christ is coming back for a Church without wrinkle or blemish. Therefore, we must live a life of repentance for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Guidelines and Questions:

1. Share practical lessons from the parable of the prodigal son who chose to return home.
2. In regard to this pandemic of COVID-19 [Corona Virus], what does the LORD expect of us?
3. Pray as Individuals, Family, Cell, Church, and Nation and allow the Lord to examine our hearts and resolve to return to the Lord.
