“God is sovereign and that He loves and cares for people even when the events of life don’t seem to make sense.” Revd. Canon Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye

Praise the Lord! The Revd. Canon Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye shared with the Cathedral Congregations on the Topic ‘Unlimited by Circumstances’ and reflecting on a Story of a young Lady who emerged a Winner disregarding her difficult context. The Sermon was based on Esther 2:1-11 and Luke 8:40-48 respectively. The Preacher out rightly pointed out that the Story of Esther in the Old Testament should be a shelter of encouragement, a mirror hope for all doubtful people and above all a base of action in situation of uncertainty.

Dr. Nyegenye emphasized that in the Dominion of God, you are never young [Jer. 1:4-8], a Woman, a foreigner [Esther. 2:7] and an orphan! For God is a Father to all the fatherless and He qualifies all His people disregarding any circumstance(s). The Preacher outlined key Issues through which God helps people in such situations to include among others:

  1. Developing a clear determination to fulfill His Promises
  2. God elevates us to a status to follow up and accomplish His Plan(s);
  3. We shouldn’t be silent about the circumstances we face, but rather surrender them to the Lord in prayer [Esther.4:14]; and
  4. Despite the difficult circumstances, God purposes to position an Individual and or Group of people to fulfill His Plan.

Unlimited by Circumstances therefore prompts All Christians to study and bear in mind the following Lessons Using Mordecai and Esther’s example; that can ground us further in His Footsteps:

  1. Parents should deliberately nurture and grow up their children in godly ways for future application for transformation of Society [through reprimand and appreciating them];
  2. Parents need to listen, respect and care for their children;
  3. Christians ought to take risks and allow God to guide them;
  4. Just like Esther, Christians should be a witness in foreign Land [Psalm. 24:3-4]; and
  5. Above all, Christians’ should use their godly gifts to support those that are not well endowed [Esther.8:1-3].

Guiding Questions and Prayer moment(s)

    1. As a Cell, spend some quality time to reflect on the entire Topic of Study. Specifically focus on those moments when you were limited by circumstances to fulfill God’s Purpose.
      How did the LORD enable you overcome such circumstance? Provide some Examples to strengthen those that may not be clear on the Subject. [Ephesians 2:13]
    2. Prayerfully reflect on [Romans 8:31-39] – seeking God’s guidance and direction on how to cope with such Circumstances.
