Praise the Lord indeed! The process and skill(s) in ‘Managing challenges in raising godly Children’ involves ALL people that surround them inclusive majorly Parents, Guardians, Relatives and Siblings to mention a few. In her Homily to the Cathedral Congregations on 3 rd March 2019, Rev Betty Mwandha pointed out that we are all God’s Children [Psalm 127:3-5]; and raising them DOES NOT only deal with related challenges alone; but also the considerations of God’s original Plan for the Family. The Preacher outlined candidly the following challenges among others namely:
As a way forward, the Preacher applauded Parents who are always present for their Children but cautioned those who are absent to always seek for help from Church Leaders and Counsellors [just in case their children were found faulty]. She emphasized that the Word of God is paramount in raising a godly Family – the Bible therefore should NOT be used as a transactional Tool but rather as a Transformational Tool. [Deut.4:9]
In the 11.30am Service, His Grace Stanley Ntagali talked about God’s sufficient grace and focused on 1 Chronicles 17:21-27. He was celebrating and thanking God for the Life of General Koreta Family for the abundant Love and provision God had ushered to them over the times. He pointed out that God is awesome and His goodness is abundant and Worshippers need to respond to His Love, Care, Protection and Providence. The Archbishop underscored the essence of humility in serving God as depicted by General Koreta which as it were, has been demonstrated in the Bible
by David and other holy men and women. His Grace also emphasized that we are all Miracles of God whatever status He has endowed us. [Colossians 3:17].
Guiding questions and Prayer moments:
1. As a Cell, spend most of the Time discussing and reflecting on the four (4) Points raised by the Preacher. How has your Family been affected? How have you overcome those Challenges? [How are you overcoming those challenges?] Are you a Miracle of God?
2. Spend the remaining Time in Prayer, seeking God’s direct intervention and guidance/ help in raising godly children. [Deut. 6:6-9]
