cell groupGrowth and organization of the Church
Last Sunday we reflected on growth of the Church. From the day of Pentecost the Church grew! (Acts 2) the Lord poured out the Holy Spirit and 3,000 people accepted the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Acts 2:37 “What shall we do to be saved”? This means that the growth of the Church comes with the preaching of the gospel. It’s Jesus we preach.
(Rom 8). We are heirs with Christ. Since the Church is not just a building, to all who believe need to receive Christ. When the Church grows, people
should grow in faith. Growth is in 2 ways:

  1. In Numbers
  2. In faith

It’s wonderful to grow in numbers but its more critical to grow in faith (In Christ).

  • Church growth requires that we create an atmosphere to grow
  • We need to create a welcoming heart/environment.
  • A growing Church needs to be accountable to God and to the believers. (Acts 15) as the Church grew, there was a hierarchy, they resolved it. As a Church we need hierarchy to grow.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus is important. If we are to grow, we need to focus on the author and finisher of our life.
All the major figures lived by faith! Faith grows!
Jesus endured so that we can be set free! When we keep our focus on Jesus, we will be able to grow!
• In our struggles against sin, let’s press on and focus on Jesus.

Questions for reflection:

  • Are we just members of Church of Uganda or members of Christ?
  • What are you doing to growth in faith?
  • As an individual, what are you doing to create an atmosphere for others to grow?

God Bless You
