Text: Genesis 27:30-46.
‘Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself, “The days of mourning for
my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob,”’ (Vs 41). If a grudge is not resolved when you realize it, it can lead to hatred. Usually a grudge is a long-time accumulation of hurts. The Bible teaches us in Matthew 5:25 that reconciliation should take place as soon as possible.
Reflect on this verse 41, what are you doing about the people who have hurt you recently? How has it affected the way you relate to them?
Almighty Father, create a right spirit within me so that I learn to deal with hurts as soon as they occur. Humble me to accept the fact that I am not perfect; In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
