Text: Psalm 121:1-8
One of the best reasons for trusting in Christ is his constant presence with
us. We present ourselves in worship because we are always in need of his protection and guidance in every step, both spiritually and physically.
When people were travelling to Jerusalem, they were going up in altitude
as they approached the City; so, it was very natural for them to be looking
up as they approached the Temple Mount. There, your Creator welcomed
you with open arms, desiring to receive your sacrifices and your worship.
The Temple was a constant reminder that Yahweh had promised to preserve his people no matter how difficult the situation.
We need the same comforting reminder today. Our worship should be an
experience of how precious our covenant with God is. He has promised to
be with us always and to strengthen us for the spiritual journey, regardless
of the circumstances. His relationship with us is eternal, and when we
worship, we receive the special blessing of knowing that this precious
relationship is never going to change!
Meditate on verses 1-2. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Faithful and ever loving Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that
You continually fill me with Your presence so that I may always trust
You; for my all help comes from You. Amen.
