Text: Amos 8:1-14.
‘Saying, “When will the new moon be over, that we may sell grain?
And the Sabbath, that we may offer wheat for sale, that we may make the ephah small and the shekel great and deal deceitfully with false balances,” verse 5 (ESV). Do not get tired of Sunday being a day of rest.
We should honour God by keeping His day holy. Keep it spiritual and not as a religious ritual. Do not let the urge to make money on Sunday overtake you. The Bible is against such. Do not look at a Sunday as burden or loss day.

Reflect on verse 5, what is God teaching you in this verse? How do you treat Sunday, is it a burden for it prevents you from making money or it is like any other day? How are you going to apply verse 5 to your life and family?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive us as a nation for we have taken Sunday lightly and have done it in what we deem fit. Teach us to honour it. Amen.
