Text: Romans 11:1-36.
“Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace,” verse 5 [NKJV]. Although the nation of Israel had rejected Jesus Christ, many of the Jews had received and believed in Him [Acts 2:41, 4:4]. One may attempt to think that there is no genuine Christian in Uganda because of the increased evil in society: killings, stealing and grabbing, family break down etc. Be reminded that in the midst of these challenges there are those who are truly trusting God and serving Him.
God has not chosen them because of their foreseen faith in Him, or good works or spiritual worthiness, not even on tribal descendance but purely by His grace. That explains the election by grace.
Meditate on verse 5. Will you be counted as one of the remnants at present time? How are you going to apply this verse to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for preserving Your own in the midst of challenges and despair. Amen.
