Text: Psalm 143:1-12
Our pride causes us to be blind to the fact that all human beings are the same. The ugly truth is that “no one living is righteous” before God. When is the pride and blindness removed? When we are under the pressures of the world and we realise how much we need our Saviour’s help. The fire and trial reveals to us how sinful and miserable we are, and when we approach God for solutions, we realise that His rescue must be merciful.

Why mercy? Because no one deserves it. If this is true, then why boldly approach a three times holy God? Because He has loved us already in Christ! If you are aware of your sin, especially when in trouble, then praise Jesus for His Spirit that makes you aware and repentant! Ask Him for strength in the face of trouble, and patiently allow Him to restore and refresh you. As he rescues you from your enemies, allow Him, in humility, to shape and mould you into something greater, for you are His servant (v. 12).

Meditate on verse 11. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Almighty and merciful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that You protect me, bring me out of all troubles and revive me. Amen.
