Text: Matthew 17: 14-27

What happens when you are deployed and you fail? How would you feel if they accuse you of ‘the truth’ in front of your mentor or boss? This I suggest is the scenario that was before the disciples when a man pointed a finger at them that they failed to act yet he had all hopes in them. Jesus rebuked the demon (v.18). And in privacy the disciples, in embarrassment, asked why they could not heal the boy? He (Jesus) responded: inadequate faith. Faith, that would move a mountain is simple (Jesus continues). But that only persistent prayer and fasting reigns in certain types of spirits.
Later Jesus was taxed, and indeed, a miracle of a coin (drachma) was a confirmation to mainly the fisherman Peter. He catches a fish “from the sea” and clears the tax.

Meditate on verse 21. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Lord God, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that You grant me faith like of a mustard seed that moves mountains, so that my life speaks out of You as the wonderful Redeemer. Amen.
