Text: Jeremiah 23:23-40
In the days of Jeremiah, fake prophets were promoting dreams over the Word of God (vv.23-33) . It is true that God can reveal His truth through dreams (Num. 12:6; Joel 12:28), however, such dreams should be tested against the Word of God (Deut. 13:1-3). The dreams of these false prophets were coming from their corrupt minds. The Lord wants true prophets to speak His Word faithfully, rather than focusing on dreams. For God’s Word is like hammer (vv. 28-29). This compares dreams to chaff and His Word to grain of wheat (v. 28).
Today, many people are running after dreams and their interpretations.
Unfortunately, they dream from their corrupt hearts, they run to “men of God”, who are equally evil, for interpretations and the outcome is always chaff.
You must stick to the Word of God and do not be deceived by dreams, for every dream must be subjected to the Word of God. Stick to Christ alone and Him crucified.
Meditate on verse 28. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I beseech You for help to stick to Your Holy Word, other than dreams emanating from fleshly minds. Amen.
