TEXT: NEHEMIAH 1:1-11
The name “Nehemiah”, means “Comforted by God”. Nehemiah was distressed when he heard that his people living in Jerusalem were in distress (v.4). He quickly asked God how he could help. He confessed the sin of his people (v.6). Nehemiah is a hero in the sense that he trusted God in a radical way, gave up palatial comforts, and went to help those in distress in Jerusalem.

Jesus Christ is our true Hero, His concern for the Spiritual welfare of His people brought Him from heaven (Matt. 9:36). And Christ alone is able to save! Christ is our Hero because He continues to intercede for His people (Rom. 8:34). What a privilege that our Hero, Jesus Christ, is at the right hand of the Father continually interceding for us! Receive and believe in Christ today, by faith through prayer!

Meditate on verse 4. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Our heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help us to earnestly seek Your face always! Amen.
