TEXT: MATTHEW 4:1-25
When Jesus was about to enter His national public ministry, at about the age of thirty, God the Holy Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil (Matt.4:1). We should remember that God does not tempt anyone (Jam.1:13). Jesus spent forty days without eating; so, He was extremely hungry. Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread and eat. However, Jesus humbly entrusted Himself into the hands of His Heavenly Father to do what the Father thought was best. A prideful person would have cared for himself, perhaps even accusing God of abandonment.

This life is often not easy, and the challenges almost unbearable. But we must remember that God is the absolute Sovereign over all things and events. What happens to you is part of God’s plan for you, even if you do not like it. Those challenges are meant to make you more like Christ and draw you closer to God; but only if you will humbly accept it as such. If you fight against it, it just shows that you are arrogant. And God will not stand for that.

Meditate on verse 10. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me power to overcome all temptations. Amen.
