Text: Ezekiel 40:1-49
When Jerusalem was finally destroyed, the Temple was also destroyed. It would seem that the nation of Israel and worship of Yahweh had come to an end. But that is not Yahweh’s plan. There will be another Temple, a greater Temple, and its description begins in Ezek.40. Yahweh brings Ezekiel to the top of a mountain and shows him the Temple, just as He brought Moses up Mt. Sinai to show him the Tabernacle and how it should be built. With this new Temple God will bless the whole world.

This Temple is a picture of the great Temple God is building with persons (1 Peter 2.5), not with bricks. There will be some who are from Israel and some who are from the other nations (Eph.2:11-22). If you belong to God’s grace in Christ, you are part of this great Temple, a people of worship, indwelt by God.

Meditate on verses 3-4. Who is this man being talked about? (44:2, 5).
Our Lord and heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, as a blessed member of Your great spiritual Temple, help me hear and understand Your Word so that I can clearly share it with this lost world. Amen.
