Text: Judges 6:11-24
Because of God’s faithfulness to His covenant union with Israel, He takes
pity on them and raises up a Judge through whom He will deliver them.
Gideon is that man. According to Gideon’s own words (v.15) he is an
insignificant man in an insignificant clan, so why would God use him? It is
for the purpose that God’s strength will be seen when He uses Gideon’s
weakness (2 Cor.12:9). That’s why the battle of Jericho was fought in such
a strange way – so that it would be obvious that the victory was from God!
(Joshua 6:1-27).

You and I are no different from Gideon. We are weak and insignificant.
Always remember that God the eternal Son, Jesus Christ, the Great Power
of the universe, has already accomplished all things (2 Peter 1.3).
Christian life is often difficult and painful. So, remember the words of
the Lord through Apostle Paul: be strong in the Lord and in the strength
of His might (Eph.6:10). Jesus is the One working in you and through you
(Phil.2:12-13). Stay close to Him in prayer, Scripture reading, worship,
etc.

Meditate on verse 14. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly and Faithful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, let Your
Words work appropriately in me, so I can live a life worthy of my calling.
Amen.
