Text: 1 Chronicles 7:1-40
There are genealogies of six northern tribes mentioned in this chapter. They do not really contribute much to the main purposes of the book (David’s line and the priesthood). But there is one thing to observe; There are numbers of soldiers listed that will help David when he secures his kingdom. Sadly, eventually these northern tribes will leave Yahweh, serve false gods, and then be destroyed by Yahweh.
How do we apply this to our lives today? Jesus Christ, as He builds His Kingdom, uses His people. Sadly, some of them have no heart for the Lord, and they drift away. Please do not let that be you. Serve the Lord with strength, love Him with all your heart, soul, and mind. And one day, when you see Him on His throne, He will not send you away, He will receive you into His embrace forever.
Meditate on verses 14-15. There is focus on women. What was special with the daughters of Zelophehad (Numbers 27:1-11)?
