Text: Luke 3:1-20
John the Baptist went from place to place on both sides of River Jordan preaching to people to repent, receive forgiveness from God and be baptised (v. 3).
However, he rebuked some people calling them “Blood of vipers” because they just wanted to be baptised only to escape eternal punishment but not repenting their sins and changing the way they lived (vv.7-9). God values reformation of a person and not rituals. Today we have people looking for “miracles” and “deliverances” and not necessarily getting saved. This is wrong. These are “Brood of vipers” that John talked about. The miracle you will ever receive in your generation today is that of receiving and believing in Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord. Amen.

Meditate on verse 3. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Our Father and Lord in Heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that
You endorse me with ability to proclaim Your Word to people who are lost,
in a special way in the New Year, 2020; that they may be convicted of and
repent their sins, receive Your redemptive power, through knowledge of
You and the Power of the resurrected Lord and Saviour; Jesus Christ, to
the glory of Your Mighty and Holy name. Amen.
