Text: Joshua 22:1-34
In Numbers 32 the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half ( 1⁄2) tribe of Manasseh are given territory on the east side of River Jordan. But first they must fight for the other Israelites. They have done that, and now they are going home. Before they cross the river, they build a symbolic altar that resembled the one in the Tabernacle. It was to remind the Israelites on the west side that the east side Israelites are still part of the nation and they worship Yahweh. There must always be peace within God’s people.

So, too, with Christ’s Church around the world. There are so many hostile divisions, even among good churches that properly understand the Bible and teach it correctly. Jesus was crucified for all His people, together all the churches in the world are the one body of Christ, and Christ is not divided.

Please, as much as we are able, let us make peace and build up one another (Rom.14:19).

Meditate on verse 5. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me obey Your Word always. Amen.
