Text: John 15:15-27.
“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you,” verse 19. (ESV). If you choose to worship and work for Christ, you will be persecuted and hated by the world because you do not belong to the world, you belong to Christ. So to follow and work for Christ is costly but it is worth it, because soon you will be with Him in eternity.
Reflect on verse 19, when you see the things you like and do, the things you talk about, watch and think; the fellowship and groups you belong to, do you see yourself belonging to Christ or the world? Are you hated because of the righteousness of Christ on you or because of your selfishness and love for the world?
My heavenly father, thank You for choosing me by Your own grace to be Yours. Give me the grace to work for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
