Text: 1 Peter 4:1-19
Today’s passage concludes the teaching on the painful subject of Christian suffering with a final exhortation in Verse 19. What the passage points out to us is that we must not let the pain of suffering dissuade us from a course of doing good as we follow Christ. The emphasis here is that there is always a divine purposeful design and godly result of that suffering and therefore, we are to: bear suffering patiently (vv. 1-6), do good for the glory of God even in seasons of trial (vv. 7-11), rejoice in our afflictions well knowing that the hand of our loving heavenly father superintends our trials (vv.12-14), trust and honour our Saviour who triumphed over sin, death, and judgment (cf.2: 20-23) by doing good in all circumstances (15-19).
Meditate on verses 15-16. How are you going to apply them to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me walk a righteous and holy life. Let me not be found wanting in my journey of salvation. Amen.
