Text: Mark 14:1-11
This was the period for the preparation for the Passover Feast. The feast was to commemorate the ancient historical event in which the angel of death passed over the homes of Israelites in Egypt. To be commemorated together with this was the Feast of Unleavened Bread, symbolizing the exodus of Israelites from Egypt (Exod. 23:15). The Chief Priests (members of Sanhedrin and the representatives of the 24 orders of ordinary priests; mostly Sadducees and Scribes (primarily Pharisees who were authorities on Jewish law, scholars who explained the application of the law) hatched a plan to kill Jesus Christ. But they feared a crowd of about two million people, including His friends who had come from Galilee where He had many followers, they would riot.

It is noteworthy that while Mary, who was a prostitute, worshiped Jesus by
pouring an expensive perfume on Him (v.3), Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples entrusted with His earthly treasury, planned to betray Jesus (v.10). Do you love and serve Christ genuinely from the heart or your daily actions deny Christ?

Meditate on verse 3. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pledge to give You my heart; search and shape it; make me the kind of person You want me to be; so that my thoughts, my words, and my actions may all reflect my faithfulness to You through the enduring fruit of the inward dwelling of the Holy Spirit in my being. Amen.
