TEXT: 2 SAMUEL 12:1-15
The name “Nathan”, means “Gift of God”. Prophet Nathan is a hero, for he wisely and boldly confronted King David after he had fallen into sin of adultery and murder (vv.7-9). Immediately, David repented (v.13).
Repentance is key for every Christian! And God is willing to forgive every sin that is repented of (1 John 1:9).
Nathan was pointing to Jesus Christ who confronted the evil of hypocrisy and perjury especially among the Pharisees and Scribes (Matt.13:1-36).
As a Christian, you must confront evil in our society. This calls for wisdom and boldness from the Holy Spirit whom one receives at the point of receiving and believing in Jesus Christ.
Meditate on verses 7-9. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Our Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me the boldness to confront evil in my church and community! Amen.
