Text: Isaiah 47:1-15
In the chapter, we see prophet Isaiah prophesying the fall of Babylon (vv.1-3). This was more than one hundred fifty years before it fell. At the time of this prophecy Babylon was not yet the world’s greatest force. Time came when Babylon became so powerful, full of pride and it destroyed Judah and Jerusalem. But God who has the ultimate power and who had used Babylon to punish His children now uses Medo-Persia to destroy Babylon and rescue His people. Babylon full of pride had believed a lie that it was most secured and the only powerful entity on earth only to be humiliated and plundered.
Do not rely on material things and connections you have. All these can vanish suddenly to your humiliation.
Meditate on verse 10-11. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I choose to trust in You only, for You alone are God Almighty. Amen.
