Text: Genesis 7:1-24.
This passage informs us that God brought the destruction He promised, and every living thing that lived on the surface of the earth was destroyed. The only survivors were Noah, his wife, his three sons, their wives, and the chosen animals that God brought into the ark. Though the rains of judgment fell heavily against the earth and against the ark, the ark remained strong, and the ones inside were safe.
This is a type of the salvation we have in Jesus Christ. When Jesus was on the cross, God the Father poured onto Jesus the judgment against the sin of His people. Justice was satisfied. If God puts you “in” Christ, you will not be touched by God’s wrath, so you are safe. Be sure that you are in Christ.
Trust that what He did to save you from God’s judgment against your sin is complete.
Meditate on verses 17, 21-23. What are you learning from these verses? What do they imply to those outside Jesus Christ?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray that people will receive Jesus Christ so that they are not carried away by the temptations of this world.
I pray that our families will hide in Jesus Christ. Amen.
