Text: 2 Chronicles 32:1-33
In this chapter we read that godly King Hezekiah and Judah are attacked by
Assyria. The Assyrian army officers mock Hezekiah and his reliance on Yahweh.
They believe that no nation can withstand their onslaught. They had destroyed everyone else, and those gods did not help their followers. So the King and Prophet Isaiah prayed to Yahweh, and the Lord destroyed the enemy.
In this life there is never continuous peace, even for Christians. There are
always bad times, challenges, opposition, etc. Even when we pray, we still face difficulties. We often ask, “Why can’t I have the success Hezekiah received when he prayed?” But you do, you’re just not seeing it correctly. When the enemy comes against our souls or against the Kingdom, we absolutely cannot be destroyed. Our King Jesus, God the Son, is seated at the right hand of God the Father and is interceding for us non-stop. We are safe! Take heart. One day we will be with the Lord in perfect peace forever.
Meditate on verses 20-21. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help us and defeat the enemies
of Your church. Amen.
