Thursday, 5th August 2021. God is near to one of a contrite heart
Text: Psalm 34:1-22
God cares for His faithful (v.18). He is near to those who are broken hearted and He rescues those who are crushed in the spirit. To them God is willing to heal and give good health. Jesus Christ said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mat. 5:3, ESV).
Jesus meant that when we are poor in spirit we are humble in spirit. A humble spirit calms down our bodies, facilitating good health. A humble spirit neutralises areas that would bring about stress and anxiety.
Meditate on verse 18. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me a broken and contrite heart. Amen.
