Thursday, 30th December 2021. That the Messiah would be pierced
Text: Zechariah 12:1-14
Prophet Zechariah says that God will pour the Holy Spirit on to the house of King David and inhabitants of Jerusalem causing many to see the one whom they pierced (v.10). And after recognizing Jesus Christ as
the Messiah, they will cry bitterly.
The prophecy was fulfilled when one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear and at once blood and water came out (John 19:34). On His second coming, every eye will see Jesus Christ, even those who pierced Him will grieve bitterly as if crying over the death of a first born child (Rev.1:7). Cries of unrepentant hearts are inconsequential. Repent now, and God will forgive you all your sins!
Meditate on Rev. 1:7. How are you going to respond to it?
Merciful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that all my family members will genuinely repent and be saved. Amen.
