Text: 2 Kings 7:1-20
In the previous Chapter, we read about the Syrian army surrounding the city of Samaria until the people were starved into surrendering. In this Chapter, Prophet Elisha said that God would destroy Syria, but it seemed impossible to the leaders. The day after the prophecy, the Syrians were defeated by Yahweh.
He made the Syrians think that a huge army was coming against them, and the Syrian army ran away.

God created everything just by speaking them into existence; so, He needs no one to accomplish His purposes in warfare. Defeating the Syrian army showed as such. This principle is relevant especially in regard to salvation from sin. God the Son, Jesus Christ, did it all Himself. Do not ever think there is something you can do to save yourself, as there is nothing you can do to contribute to what Jesus did. Just trust that Jesus did it all for you, completely. Then live a life of gratefulness and loving obedience.

Meditate on verse 9. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray You enable me to share the good news to this lost world. Amen.
