Text: Psalm144:1-15
When the Father calls us into His service, He invites us to fight battles together with Him. Yes, it is His power; and of course, He receives the glory. But He prepares us for war, and asks us to be brave and stand up for what is right. While in the fight, one begins to wonder why God loves us humans at all, for we are so evil and destructive. But this is the very definition of love, for the Father delights in loving His children, even as painfully and difficult as we all are. God’s own reason for His love for us is far beyond our own small minds; but that does not stop Him from communicating to us clearly that He loves you and me! And it is precisely because of that love, that we now have the perfect reason to join in battle with Him.

After the battle is over and the victory won, we will be certainly rejoicing in thankfulness. This Psalm was written after David gained the final victory over King Saul. The natural result from experiencing Yahweh’s rescue was an enormous overflow of thankfulness for a miraculous rescue. A proper thankful attitude will bring together humility with confidence, because you now know that Yahweh will indeed bring victory. Therefore, we need to be bold in the battle, and confident as we ask and fight for peace and prosperity.

Meditate on verse 1. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for a heart that listens to Your calls to spiritual warfare because I know I am blessed; for You are the Rock of salvation. Amen.
