Text: Jeremiah 14: 13-22
While the people were under the distress out of a severe drought, other false prophets at that time were proclaiming peace to the people (v.13). This prompted God to answer back that these prophets were telling lies and that they were not His prophets (v.14). Is this not what we are seeing today, with many “prophets” claiming to be speaking the Word of God; when actually they are not. Unfortunately, many people have followed them. Both the false prophets and their followers will all be condemned (vv.15-16).
Jesus Christ warned of false prophets (John 7:15-20). Stick to the Word of God and endeavour to know Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor. 2:2).
Meditate on verse 20. How are you going to apply it to your life?

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I beseech You, in prayer, to lead us to acknowledge our wickedness and seek Your forgiveness as a nation; rather than visit our iniquities on us as You did with Judah; we
pray that You pour Your Holy Spirit on this land to convict us into, and guide us, in righteous living. Amen.
