Text: Luke 1:26-56
It is important to note that when Elizabeth was filled with joy as Mary visited her (v.43), the expression of joy was the praising of the Baby, Jesus, in her womb and not Mary the mother. It was a grand gratitude, on the part of Elizabeth, that the child Mary had in the womb was the long awaited Messiah, the one whom King David had called “Lord” (20:44). So be careful, do not worship Mary; but Jesus Christ! Elizabeth was overwhelmed by the spectacular joy and the mystery that was covering the whole event (cf.2:19). Elizabeth was full of joy, understanding and pondering the response of the baby she was carrying. All this by the illumination of the Holy Spirit (v.41).

Meditate on verse 38. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Almighty and ever loving Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that as You direct my life, attach the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so that I may always worship You only and obey Your instructions always, according to
Your plan, not mine. Amen.
