Text: Joshua 24:1-33
This is the chapter where we read of Joshua’s death. Just before he dies, he has strong words to say to the people; Yahweh chose them, delivered them, sustained them, and gave them the land of promise. Everything about who they are is because of God’s grace. Now Joshua challenges them. Will they serve Yahweh, who did everything for them, or will they serve the false gods of the nations?
You are faced with the same challenging question; Jesus has done the same things for the Church that He did for Israel. You know how He lived, died, raised, and intercedes for His people. So, will you continue to serve your own self-interests, or will you serve the Lord Jesus Christ?!
CHOOSE! Now, now! whom you will serve. Pray for grace to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.
Meditate on verses 14-15. How are you going to apply them to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pledge to serve You, for You alone are God Almighty, the Creator of heavens and the earth. Amen.
