Text: 2Timothy 2:1-26.
“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. …An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops,” verses 3-6-ESV. Do not be confused by what is secular and what is spiritual.

The Bible teaches that all life should be lived in obedience to God as you obey the Holy Spirit moment by moment. As a Christian you need to be disciplined like a soldier, an athlete or a farmer. A soldier who is not disciplined is likely to die faster in battle or dismissed from the active duty. An athlete who is not discipled to run according to the rules will be dismissed and a farmer who is not disciplined will lose his
crop. An effective disciple will only come from Jesus Christ.

Reflect on verses 3-6, how are you going to apply them to your life and family?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for discipline in terms of reading the Bible, prayer and witnessing. I pray for consistency in
walking with You. Amen.
