Text: 1 Chronicles 23:1-32
When Yahweh first organized His people at Mount Sinai, all the tribes were arranged at different places around the Tabernacle, and the Levites were camped completely around it. Worship of God’s grace was central. In this chapter the men of the tribe of Levi were appointed by Yahweh for service in the Temple which was soon to be built. Only the descendants of Aaron were permitted to serve as priests, but men from all three clans (Gershon, Kohath, Merari) had something to do in the Temple service.

Worship is still the central purpose of redemption (Rev.7:9). It is the main
reason for the work of Christ in His earthly ministry. We who belong to God’s grace, we who are united to Jesus Christ, we are being built into a Temple in which God will dwell (Eph.2:21). Though the Holy Spirit has given each of us different gifts, we are all called to use our gifts for worship and for service to the Lord and to His people. And we as priests (1 Peter 2:9) offer the sacrifices of praise (Heb.13:15).

Meditate on verse 30. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, help me worship You all the time, to the glory of Your name. In the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
