Text: Mark 14: 32-52
As Jesus comes to a point of fulfilling His mission – to die for the sins of many, the situation became unbearable for Him (v. 34). At some point He felt God could offer an alternative plan to save mankind (v. 36). The “cup” He meant was the cup of divine wrath (Ps 75:8, Isaiah 51:17, Jer. 49:12). But He was committed to fulfill God’s Will not His (Jesus); He remained committed to fulfill God’s Will.

Jesus Christ was betrayed by His own disciple, Judah Iscariot, with a kiss (v.
44), normally a special act of respect and affection. Do not be surprised when your own friends betray you, in suffering and in need; be committed to the Will of God.

Meditate on verse 38. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Our Father and Almighty God, in the name of Jesus Christ I prayerfully request, in a spirit of humility and repentance, that You enable me to know Your Will for my life, and through watchfulness and prayer, to live a life
that is in line with Your Will and worth of what I profess, Amen.
