Text: Isaiah 63:1-19
In this chapter Isaiah is not referring to history of events but he is speaking the Word of the Lord as it came to him. This explains why someone who had been talking about salvation and restoration of Jerusalem all of a sudden goes to a situation of devastation in this chapter. Here we see God assuring His children of victory over their enemies (vv. 1-14). Edom represents the enemies of God’s people and God Himself and Bozrah was its capital city. “Treading grapes in the winepress” is symbolic of judgement (v.3). And He defeats His enemies alone.
Jesus Christ does not need any help to save. He does it alone, therefore trust Him.

Meditate on verse 5. How are you going to respond to this verse?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for Your Word of assurance, that You alone will defeat the enemy for me. Amen.
