Text: Matthew 10:1-15
Jesus Christ had realised earlier on the need for the harvesters. He chose the twelve to help in this regard (vv.1-4). He called people from all walks of life; tax collectors like Matthew, political activists like Simon the Zealot; fishermen like John the son of Zebedee; rich and poor; educated and uneducated. It is interesting that Matthew, who was implementing Roman policies against the Jews, is now working with Simon the Zealot, who previously worked hard to see Romans violently removed from their land. Jesus Christ brought reconciliation. God can use anyone, significant or insignificant in our society. The important thing is obedience and faithfulness. Are you willing to be used by God?

Meditate on verse 4. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Our loving and all-embracing Father, You know my heart; I pray that You make me the kind of person You want me to be; I especially pray that You grant me a spirit of reconciliation to enable me to work with whoever You send me to partner with in Your vineyard. In the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
