Sunday, 5th December 2021. That Jesus Christ would be a prophet like Moses
Text: Deuteronomy 18:1-22
The Jews expected a final prophet who would be equal to Moses, and even greater than Moses (vv. 15-19). Such a prophet would mediate between people and God.
The prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus Christ (Acts7:37). At first, the Jews mistook this “prophet” to be Joshua, yet Moses was pointing to the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Indeed, Christ is our true Prophet from God, our Father!
Meditate on Acts 7:51. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive us as a nation. We are a stiff necked people. In Your judgment have mercy on us! Amen.
