Text: 1 Kings 5:1-18

God’s main purpose in all He does is worship. That is why Moses was directed to build the tabernacle; that is why David wanted to build the permanent temple; and that is what Solomon is about to do. David could not do it because of all the wars he fought. But God graciously gave rest and peace to Solomon so that he may build the temple.

The main concern of King Jesus is the worship of His Father. When Jesus entered the temple, it was being corrupted; so, He chased away the abusers (John 2:14- 16). Now as Jesus is seated as King on the throne of Heaven, He is engaged in building an eternal temple for God. The bricks are people, we who belong to His grace (Eph.2:19-21). Our Church leaders must have as their main concern the worship of God by His people. The primary focus must not be budgets, programs, etc. Everything we do must be for the glory of God (1 Cor.10:31).

Meditate on verse 7. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father in heaven, I pray that You endow me with wisdom so that people will recognise Your working power in me and give glory to Your Mighty Name. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
