Text: Judges 19:1-30
This story is placed at the end of the book, but chronologically it should be closer to the beginning, perhaps the generation after Joshua’s. The men of Gibeah, in the tribe of Benjamin, were behaving like the men of Sodom (Gen.19:4-5). A visiting Levite came to spend the night in their town and the men tried to assault the Levite sexually. Instead, the Levite gave them his concubine, the men raped her all night, and she died. Then the Levite cut her into 12 pieces and sent her parts to the different tribes of Israel.

Our loving Saviour, Jesus, is powerful and no enemy can come against Him.
And Jesus is able to keep away all the enemies from destroying His people.
Though Satan and the world try to abuse us, we cannot be harmed. You might stray from Jesus, but Jesus will never stray from you. He will never give you into the hand of the enemy, He is always present to save you from all destruction. This world is full of difficulties. So stay close to Jesus, and one day you will be safely in His arms – forever.

Meditate on verse 1. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your great promise never to forsake me; I pray against any area of reproach in my life as Your child. Hold my hand in “life walk” so that I can avoid any appearance of evil, and graciously lead me to Your eternal Kingdom. Amen.
