Text: Psalm 140:1-13
Many have lost their faith because evil often seems to win. We all want justice, and we want it NOW. But these challenges of violence and evil are used for a holy purpose in the life of a believer. Our crises cause us to cry out to God for help and protection. Then when we see His mighty hand in power, our faith grows and we delight in His love. We also grow in our identity; we desire that my personal covenant God will hear my cries for mercy.

Yet we are called to be God’s proclaimers of justice in the world! David prays to change the world, for he opens his heart to God that his intense desire is to see the violent brought to justice. Exploitation of others grieves his heart, and he wants desperately to see justice for the poor.

When justice prevails, God is glorified and righteous people enjoy His reign over evil. Please pray today that the Lord would bring His justice in power. Ask Him how you can be an agent of that change.
Meditate on verse 1. What is David praying for? How can you apply it to your life?
Our Lord and righteous Father, I cry out and pray for justice in our land; cry out against all manner of evil and pray to You to deliver me from all evil people. In the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
