Text: Isaiah 31:1-9
The Lord is warning the Israelites not to trust Egypt for help but instead look to God. (v. 1) Egypt had many horses and chariots (1 King 10: 28-29) and its land scape was suitable for chariotry, making Egypt a super power of some kind, even then the children of Israel were to trust God not Egypt. They trusted the power of people who worshipped gods rather than the power of the Creator of all things. Always look and consult the Holy One of Israel (v. 1). Trust the Lord with every detail of your life, and you will be effective through Jesus Christ only,
our Saviour and Lord.

Meditate on verse 1. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive me where I have not trusted You fully and have instead relied on other things and men, not You. I repent. Amen.
