Text: 2 Chronicles 17:1-19

Asa’s son, Jehoshaphat, becomes the next King, and he is a good man, as his father and David were. He loved Yahweh, Yahweh’s Law, and he worked to remove idol worship from the nation. His devotion is evident from when he sent certain men around the nation of Judah to teach the people the Word of God. This is what the King of God’s people is supposed to do ’ Shepherd theirspiritual well-being.

In this lesson we see the work of our King and Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Jesus’ love for His Father was above everything else. He went around Judah removing false worship and teaching the Word of God. As King, He also sends us to be His Bible teachers and preachers. You may not be a pastor or evangelist, etc., but you know the message of Jesus. Please, preach the message as often asyou can. This is how the Kingdom of God is strengthened. The Spirit of Christ working in you and through you.

Meditate on verses 3-4. How are you going to apply them to your life?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help us to destroy every idol in our society. Help us worship You alone. Amen.
